Wild Goose Bill Days is Wilbur’s annual community celebration held in May. It is named in honor of Town Founder Samuel (Wild Goose Bill) Condon/Condit, a pioneer who had a habit of shooting his neighbor’s pet geese for sport and later died in a gunfight over a woman. The 2024 town celebration is scheduled for Friday & Saturday, May 17-18. Sponsored and coordinated by the Wilbur Chamber of Commerce.
Friday night kicks off with the annual Fireman’s Auction, Beer Garden & Taco Bar in the Community Center. Doors open at 4:00, Food at 5:00 and Auction starts at 6:00. Help support the Wilbur Fire Station of District 7. Ages 21 and older only.
On Saturday, there are events planned outside and inside all day long! Check out: The Wild Goose Chase 5K/10K Fun Run, Main Street Parade, Kids Fishing Derby & Games in the Park, Street Vendors, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, Lions Club BBQ, Sonrise Church Breakfast, Museum Presentation, and Indoor Beer Garden with Live Music from The Desert Highway Band!
